WHY DANCE?
This being our first blog post , let's start with a brief introduction of ourselves - we are HARDCORE promotors of anything Dance , Fitness & Lifestyle.
Urban Dancera Company - founded in the year 2014 with the hope of reaching out to everyone through Dance, be it Recreationally or Professionally , Beginner or Advanced , Two left feet or Two right ;)
This being our debut into the world of blogging , we knew we had to start with the big Q - WHY DANCE?
'ANYBODY CAN DANCE' is a quote we've heard a million times but there are so many of us out there who don't take it up for different reasons.
FOR EXAMPLE - Some don't find enough courage to take their first class, some find it difficult to step out of their comfort zone to try something new , some are procrastinators and some just don't find the right studio or teacher. . .and the list goes on!
So here are 10 reasons from us Dance and Fitness lovers , as to why Dance should be on your 2018 list of HAVES - TO'S!

1. THERE ARE OVER A THOUSAND DIFFERENT STYLES TO CHOOSE FROM (1 FOR EACH MOOD!!)
You can be in the mood for some Desi Thumkas , or the beautiful form of Ballet. The uber cool Hip - Hop or the sexy form of Jazz we see at the Broadway. You could want to try your hand at any of the Indian Classical Dances or some Sassy Salsa , a traditional folk dance of any country / state , to the natural , Effortless and
AH-MAZING form of Contemporary!
The list is endless..pick your style and go for it!

Besides all the weight loss and toning of your muscles , dance provides us with some serious health benefits.
It helps improve the condition of your heart and lungs , reduces the risk of osteoporosis , improves body co-ordination and balance , and gives you a great understanding of your body which in turn makes you less prone to injuries while attempting ANY kind of fitness activity!
FUN FACT : The muscle exertion and breathing rate of a dancer in 1 dance competition is equivalent to those of cyclists , swimmers and olympic level 800 meter runners!

Workout , Fun and Friends! How often does that happen??
It's always so much more fun to have a workout buddy or dance buddy to share the same studio space with and who understands your moves like no other ;)
If you don't have one we guarantee this is the place to be. There will always be a person in the room you'll connect to and be friends with in no time! We live by the phrase 'Friends who dance together , stay together!'
7. INCREASE IN BRAIN - POWER
Dance is a great way to keep our brains alive and active all the time (and you thought it's just physical activity all this while!)
It improves our memory by constantly making us recall dance choreographies , routines , dance patterns and Dance technique ALL TOGETHER , making it a great brain exercise. The advantage being it keeps us young , quick , alert and open to new information.
8. UNITY IN DIVERSITY
Dance has no cultural barriers. Dance brings people together like no other. People from all over the world meet and greet each other in the same space sharing different ideologies , beliefs and culture.
It helps expand our mind and understand one and other better , sharing the same spirit!
9. DANCING HELPS YOU IN LIFE AS WELL!
Yes! Not only does dance help you with better health but it also teaches you other aspects of life. The value of Teamwork , Passion , Perseverance , Hard work , Acceptance and Self expression!
It allows people that are better than you (at anything) , to push you to become a BETTER VERSION OF YOURSELF! That is one of the greatest gifts.
10. HAPPY MIND , HAPPY YOU!
Dance raises our endorphin levels thus elevating our mood. (Who doesn't like being happy!)
This allows us to over come stress , anxiety and depression - our immune system's biggest , most harmful enemies! It also helps us gain more self-confidence and self-discipline.
Dance overall improves the harmony between your mind and body, giving you a sense of well-being.
